Resolved: Studypool - Withholding earnings
Payment was provided for work that was completed.
I have been a tutor for Studypool since December 2016. It started as a venture to make a few extra bucks and ended up being quite profitable.
I was making about $100 per week mainly on advanced math and science problems. I would make withdrawals as soon as I crossed the $50.00 mark and usually got my money within a couple days. Fast forward to mid April. I was doing my normal thing, had a couple withdrawals pending, made a third withdrawal (finals week was booming) and then all of a sudden my withdrawals were cancelled and I was notified that my account was being banned for fraud.
I did nothing different than I ever have done before, yet I'm being accused of fraud. I sent several messages and emails and each time I get a copy and paste response. No one could ever tell me what I did or why I was being banned. I got notice that I could make a final withdrawal and then I would be done.
I made my final withdrawal and that was cancelled too.
I will be filing a small claims lawsuit to recover my withheld funds, since it is on the order of several hundred dollars. To this day I still don't know what I did wrong and have never got a clear answer.
Reason of review: Failure to pay.
Monetary Loss: $440.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Studypool Pros: Extra income, Work form home, Easy, Own schedule.
Studypool Cons: Stealing money, Unfair ban, Withholding payment.
